Evidence / Property Room

The Evidence and Property Room Manager is responsible for the preservation, destruction, and release of all items placed in their care. The Evidence and Property Room Manager has received training in proper storage techniques to ensure that the integrity of property and evidence is maintained.

 

The Evidence and Property Room currently stores items of evidence, found property, and property held for “safekeeping”.  Upholding the security and control of all items placed in the care of the Evidence and Property Room is an essential part of the job.  Detailed records of transactions involving items of evidence are maintained in order to preserve the "chain of custody”.

The Evidence and Property Room Manager is required to ensure Federal, State, and local laws and ordinances are met related to seizures, forfeitures, prisoner property, and lost or found property. Additionally, they lend support to officers when processing large volumes of evidence.


The current Evidence and Property Room Manager is Lieutenant Jonathan Roberts.
