Road Patrol

While a small agency, Pioneer officers patrol the 2 square miles of village within our jurisdiction 24/7 - 365 days a year.

Bike Patrol

Pioneer Police created our bike patrol in 2009 as a means to remove barriers between officers and the public and to promote our community policing initiative. The program was received well and it continues today as manpower permits.

In 2020, we received 2 patrol bicycles from the Williams County Sheriff's Office to update outdated equipment previously donated to our agency.

Evidence / Property Room

Lt. Roberts heads our evidence room and coordinates all property in and our of our agency working with our local courts as needed.

School Resource Division

North Central Local Schools approached our agency in 2018 requesting to create a permanent School Resource Officer position within our school system and with the cooperation of the Village of Pioneer and the school administration, that is exactly what we created. Our first SRO was Lt. Jon Roberts followed by Officer Parker Phillips both becoming SRO Certified through the Ohio Police Officer Training Academy (OPOTA).

The position is currently filled by Officer James "Jim" Snivley.

K9 Division

As of 2023, our agency created a new K9 program, a first for this agency. Officer Mills, previously certified as a K9 Handler with another agency, will head the division with our first ever Patrol K9, Vader, set to hit the streets of Pioneer in spring 2023.
