Our permanent school resource officer position (SRO) was created in 2018 with the assistance of the North Central Local Schools and the Village of Pioneer both contributing to the funding of this invaluable position. 

Our school resource officer fills a vital role within our schools not only being uniquely prepared to plan for and maintain student safety in the face of external threats, but also being driven by the social-emotional lives of students, focused on supporting children and adolescents in developing skills in problem-solving, decision making, goal setting, resilience, and emotional maturity and growth. Our school resource officer is not designed for an administrative disciplinary role, but to mentor and encourage youth while building trust and cooperation between law enforcement and the community.  

Our school resource officers take an active role in the schools and within the community enhancing the lives of those with whom they come in contact.
